Class Assignment...1st men's wear collection!

So my professor gave us a menswear theme for our sketchbook this week.... I was instantly inspired by my group of friends known by so many names....Twerksquad......#4321 Boys..... Live Crew! They are so fun and I thought their style would be perfect.... They tend to experiment with different styles but I wanted to focus on the "geeky" style... I totally exaggerated "the geek", made it a lot more risque and quirky.... perfect for my style!THe photo below is one of the many photos I used for inspiration....The idea of the lego bow ties was used throughout my collection...tell me what you think.... I think i did ok considering I have no idea about menswear AT ALL! lol HOpe you enjoy! See ya Saturday for the next post!!! JOIN THE COMPETITION..THERES A PRIZE!

DRESS SMART....SHOP LESS!

If you are like me, you can't afford to buy something new everytime you have somewhere to go! So, in this entry I will show you how to select one garment from your closet and work it for different situations!!! I will show you how to dress for school, a date, concert, and interview.... I chose a pair of really cute houndstooth, highwaisted shorts from Forever 21, where I used to work! And since I used to work there, a lot of these items are from there. SCHOOL For the school look... I wanted to do something really casual. So I chose a graphic tee, sweater, sandals, and a belt to add a little pop of color. Throw on some studs, a watch, grap your backpack, and you are ready for the day's lesson! Sweater, tee, shorts, and sandals -Forever21 Belt-Civvie's Backpack-Jansport Watch-BetseyJohnson Studs- Gift from Mexico DATE For a date, you want to be fun, flirty, cute, but also show your personality. I love these flower print "top".. ok..its actually a dress haha.. but its cute! Its ok to mix prints, as long as you keep everything else fairly simple. Dress and belt-Target Necklace, bracelet, and shorts- Forever21 Tights- Lane Bryant shoes- Funky Monkey (laurel, ms) FASHION INDUSTRY INTERVIEW Of course if you are interviewing for a fashion position you want to look stylish, conservative, but young! I just put on a blazer and rolled up the sleeves with a neon tee and a set of pearls. Pulling your hair up with a set of studs will really give you the professional look too. ALWAYS WEAR HEELS! or in this case booties with awesome tights! Blazer- The limited Tee, Necklace, Shorts,Booties, and bracelet- Forever21 Tights- Dillards

CONCERT

I like going to rock/hip hop concets... But I also like to dress a little beatnik. I paired a Charlie Chapman like hat with layers of necklace, a black shirt, torn tights and loose calf boots! You could make it a little edgier with heavier dark shadow or eyeliner too!

Necklaces, shorts, boots, and tights- Forever 21 Tee- Target Hat-Civvie's I hope everyone enjoyed this entry and I hoped it has inspired you to dress smarter!!! Remember catch me next Saturday with a new entry, follow my blog, and post comments on here about what you think...love you fashion victims! <3

Survey of Fall 2010!!

Hello my Fashion Victims!!!! Ok! So i want to apologize for missing last weekend... im deeply sorry! but we all know "School comes first!" Right? YES! lol! well I briefly wanted to discuss Fall Fashion Week 2010! Did you watch or research your favorite designers! HOPE SO! IF NOT... GO TO WWD.COM OR STYLE.COM! Well I am a BESTEY JOHNSON FANATIC!!!! However, her fall 2010 collection disappointed me! It was inspired by westerns and it of course had a personal touch with Marilyn Monroe dresses and such! But I actually found some other designers I never considered liking.... Wunderkind and Alexander Mcqueen! SO Wunderkind's collection was inspiring.... It's color scheme was mostly tans, charcoals, reds, etc. and the inspiration seemed to be a Tribal African idea. Check out the whole collection at http://www.wwd.com/fashion-shows-reviews/fashion-designer/wunderkind-8464/wunderkind-rtw-fall-2010-2540809//http:// I mean the draping and layers are beautiful and lets not forget the gorgeous shoes!!! They actually have Tribal Mask on the front of them! BEAUTIFUL! The next collection is from the GREAT AND MISSED ALEXANDER MCQUEEN! shortly after his death, this "last" collection was shown at fashion week! The intricate detailing and work is amazing! Even though it was a small collection I was very vey impressed! I am very sadden by his death, because the man was simply a GENIUS! check out the whole collection at http://www.fabsugar.com/Alexander-McQueens-Last-Collection-7684774 SO that is my opinion of Fashion Week Fall 2010! TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT MY CHOICES? WHICH DID YOU LIKE? WHICH YOU DIDNT LIKE? ANYTHING... leave comments... become a follower... and make sure you're keeping up with your personal style!!!! Thanks Victims.... Love you! See you next week!
